New York Police Can Run Your License Plates At Will

Police in New York don’t need a reason to check your license plate number according to a decision by the state’s highest court. The Court of Appeals ruled that the police in New York can run a license plate check on your vehicle even when a law enforcement officer does not suspect that you did anything wrong. Chief Judge Janet DiFiore wrote in the decision“Because the purpose of a license plate is to readily facilitate the identification of the registered owner of the vehicle for the administration of public safety, a person has no reasonable expectation of privacy in the information acquired by the state for this purpose.” Now this is all resulting from a 2014 arrest made by the New York State University Police of a driver Andrew Bushy. Now apparently Bushy passed this officer and allegedly committed no violations and the officer ran his plates and found out that Bushy’s license and registration was suspended. When he was stopped he was given a field sobriety check and was found to be intoxicated. Bushy argued that the officer had no legal reason to check his plates which of course led to his arrest and a lower court agreed with him and threw out the case; however that decision was later overturned and that led up to this decision. The judge also wrote that numerous federal courts have ruled that license plate checks do not amount to a search of an individual. Because license plates are meant to speed the identification of a vehicle’s registered owner, “a person has no reasonable expectation of privacy” in the information a police officer may pull up from the DMV during a plate check.

Cars Speeding In The Neighborhood and It's Time For Some Police Enforcement

So a US postal worker was seriously injured while working on this stretch of road in North Babylon New York. What occurred on Prairie drive is 51 Stefano Belloisi was driving his 1998 Lincoln continental westbound when his vehicle left the roadway striking the 40 year old postal worker, his postal truck, a fire hydrant, and a utility pole. Now the postal worker was airlifted to the hospital by Suffolk county police where he underwent surgery and had to have one of his leg amputated. Belloisi was eventually charged with reckless driving and a misdemeanor drug possession. But the question still remains…what actually happened. Was it speeding, distracted driving, or was the driver actually under the influence of some type of substance. Well I’m out here today to see just how fast these cars travel along this stretch of road. Im going to be setting up this radar gun to clock the speeds of these drivers. Now as you can see the speed limit for this road is 30 mph. Let’s see what we get and maybe Suffolk county police will patrol this area a little bit more and do some speed enforcement before this type of incident happens again…or even worse.

First Amendment Audit Hofstra University Public Safety | 1st Amendment

So I’ve really been getting into these 1st Amendment audits that are taking place around the country. Now I follow on YouTube the likes of  News Now Houston, California Guardian, and highdesert community watch. Now if you don’t know what a 1st Amendment audit is, you really should check it.

But the only issue that I had with these guys doing these audits, was how aggressive a lot of the police, military, security, federal agents, etc actually are. I said come on…these guys have to be edited these videos and provoking these guys right?

So I said, I need to find out what is actually going on. Could my fellow law enforcement officers really be doing this. Could all of these audit fails be happening. So I had to venture out from my comfort level and see for myself. So I went to Hofstra University in New York and put there public safety officers to the test. Here's what happened.

Alabama Church Set To Have Its Own POLICE Department | Briarwood

A large church in Alabama is one step closer to creating its very own police force, a move that seems to be unprecedented here in the United States. Now the Alabama Senate has voted to allow Briarwood Presbyterian church in Birmingham the right to form its own police force.

The 4,000 member congregation received a favorable 24-4 vote from the Senate to allow the church to establish a law enforcement department.
The church says it needs its own police officers to keep its school as well as its more than 4,000 person congregation safe. Of course there are some challengers of this bill, who disagree with the measure stating that a police department that reports to church officials could be used to cover up crimes.
It should be noted that Alabama has given some private universities the authority to have a police force, but never a church or non-school institution.
